Easy Agile Roadmaps for Jira is now even easier to set up and share with your team.

New features:

  • Date field sync
  • Pre-populated Roadmaps
  • Easy roll-up Roadmaps

If you’re using Jira Cloud, you can start taking advantage of Version 4.0 straight away. Log in and give it a spin.

Easy Agile Roadmaps 4.0 is also available to download for Jira Server and Data Centre.

Date Field Sync

This has been the most-requested feature for Easy Agile Roadmaps since it was first released in 2016. So naturally, we’re excited to launch it!

Easy Agile Roadmaps will now synchronise with the Start Date and Due Date fields in your Jira issues when those fields are available.

When you configure your roadmap, you’ll now see this screen. Here you can choose the right fields to map to Start and Due Date.

The sync works both ways:

  • Dates users set on Jira issues will show up on the Easy Agile Roadmap, and….
  • Schedule changes made on the Roadmap will also update the date fields on your Jira issues. Win win.

The Roadmap is now a more accurate view of the work you’re planning to do.

Close integration with Jira has always been one of Easy Agile’s strengths and we’re confident that this change will make your Roadmap more useful for your teams.

Pre-populated Roadmaps

If you already have Start Dates and Due Dates on your issues, they’ll now appear automatically on the Roadmap. 🎉

We hope this will it easier for new users as well as allow existing roadmap experts to have a more comprehensive and accurate view of the plans they’ve made.

It’s comforting to know that all the work you do to make your roadmap accurate will now flow through into the rest of Jira.

Here you can see when you change an issue due date on the roadmap, it now syncs to the Jira issue.

Easy Roll-up Roadmaps

Now that the date fields are synced to the issue, not just to the board, the issue will appear in the same position across multiple boards.

This makes it easy to co-ordinate work across teams and allows roll-up or aggregate roadmaps to be created quickly and easily.

Multi-project boards allow a Product Manager to see how multiple teams’ work or multiple projects fit together and where your organisation is headed.

For example:

Say you have projects Rocket and Shuttle. Both projects are using Easy Agile Roadmaps . A multi-project board that includes project keys Rocket and Shuttle will create a roll-up Roadmap automatically from the date fields on its issues. The Roadmap in the multi-project board will have all the issues scheduled from the two projects and provide insight into how the teams’ work fits together.

Making use of this new update

Projects where the Start Date and Due Date fields are already available will start synchronising with your Jira date fields immediately. If you don’t have dates on your issues,, a Jira admin will need to adjust the configuration. Here’s a guide for how to set up dates on your board.
